Dr. Patel is a board-certified ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon who specializes in eyelid, tear duct system, and orbital (eye socket) problems. She focuses on a wide range of ophthalmic issues including, eyelid, tear duct and orbital trauma, styes/chalazion, eyelid tumors, age-related eyelid changes (droopy eyelids), orbital disease, thyroid eye disease, tearing problems, anophthalmic sockets, and cosmetic eyelid procedures including botulinum and filler injections.
Dr. Patel has numerous publications related to the eye on thyroid eye disease, eyelid lesions, and malformations of the eyelid and is also a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at New York University Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center.
Dr. Patel received her medical degree from New York Medical College, served as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology at NYU Langone Medical Center, and completed her fellowship in Oculoplastics as part of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons (ASOPRS) at Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital, Columbia, and Cornell University Medical Center.
