Facelift & Mid-Facelift

A facelift tightens or gets rid of muscle, fat, and skin to produce a more youthful, rested appearance. A mid-facelift restores youthfulness to the area of the face between the lower eyelids and the mouth to reduce puffiness under the eyes, improve the contour of the upper cheeks, and correcting nasolabial folds.

Schedule a facelift or mid-facelift.

Quick Facts
  • A facelift can help correct fat accumulation under the chin (double chin), loose neck skin, and sagging jowls
  • Dr Funt’s goal is to achieve a natural result. You do not need to fear a “wind tunnel”, “pulled lips” or other unnatural looks
  • Many patients are astonished by the lack of pain there is after surgery
  • Many patients over 45 choose to combine a mid-facelift with blepharoplasty or a browlift to rejuvenate the area around the eyes
Is It Right For You
  • If you are interested in reducing sagging in the facial areas, a facelift may be the best way to address this problem
  • If you have sagging jowls, loose neck skin, and fat accumulation under the chin (double chin)
The Procedures
  • The procedure can be performed with general anesthesia or a combination of local anesthesia and sedation. Dr. Funt uses the endotine midface device instead of non-absorbable sutures in mid-facelifts, lowering the risk of skin irregularities, dimpling and swelling and reducing procedure time
  • After a facelift, bandages may be applied to the head and neck with the purpose of maintaining the area and keeping it stationary. The bandages are usually removed a day after the procedure
  • Most patients return home on the day of the procedure and are ready to go back to work or normal activities in two weeks
  • For several weeks, expect some swelling. Bending or lifting can extend swelling and is not suggested for three weeks after surgery. Driving is allowed when the swelling goes down and does not get in the way of your vision
  • Schedule an appointment with Dr. Funt to find out if a facelift is right for you
